(short for Prosjekt- og teknologiledelse AS) is an employee owned limited company. PTL as such was established in 1997. In 1998 it merged with Hallvard Loken AS, which was founded in Oslo in 1954 as the first construction management company in Norway. In 2004 the now wholly owned subsidiary named PTL Kristiansand AS was acquired. Further acquisitions elsewhere in Norway are considered.

PTL works as project, design and construction managers in the building industry, as well as providing services such as management within ICT and organisational and business development, various analyses etc.

As part of our business philosophy we have chosen to be independent of interests that may conflict with those of our clients.

We are typically engaged to handle the interests of the clients (though occasionally those of e.g. contractors). Our contracts involve all or part of organising the projects from their concept stage, assisting in evolving them, and engaging the architects and the consultants, and later on the contractors, on behalf of the client. We develop budgets for the projects, and then oversee their economic development. We control their progress, both in the design and in the construction phases. And we control the work done both by the consultants and by the contractors.

The projects range from housing, offices, hospitals, schools, industrial plants, etc, to roads, railways, etc, the size from the very small to the very large (one of our largest single contracts was for an office building of some 200.000 sq.m for Telenor, which in 2005 was awarded the FIABCI Prix d’Excellence as the best property development project in the world).
